Inspired by World Day for Safety & Health at work

April 28th is World Day for Safety & Health at work.

In 2003, the International Labour Organization (ILO), began to observe World Day to raise awareness of occupational safety and healthy, in order to help the prevention of accidents and diseases at work around the world.

This day works well in conjunction with the ILO's Global Strategy on Occupational Safety and Health, and also shares the day with the International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers, organized worldwide by the trade union movement since 1996.

It's never been more important to stress the idea of this day as it has in 2020 and 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as the effects of this virus has globally effected the way we work in a multitude of different ways, meaning that in some way, shape or form, every industry has had to adapt to minimize the risk of contamination and spreading the virus, while also minimizing the occupational health and safety risks these changes could potentially cause, and in many cases have caused. At Inspired Scaffolding, we have always maintained that the health and safety of our colleagues, customers and the wider public is absolutely paramount. That is why we are always aware of changing guidance and legislation, not just in relation to COVID-19, but in all aspects of occupational health and safety in our industry and we hope to INSPIRE others to celebrate this day with us.
