The retaining wall support was erected by the Inspired Scaffolding team within an underpass that passes underneath Derby bypass. As the bypass was being altered there was a need for new supporting piles to be driven into the ground on the opposite side of the concrete wall. The concern was that the additional load of the piling machine and the ground pressure whilst inserting the piles could potentially overload the wall.
The scheme was designed at the time by Mark Gent using Mabey Propping.
